Pier Franco Brandimarte
Pier Franco Brandimarte’s debut novel L’Amalassunta (Giunti Editore) was the winner of the 2014 Premio Calvino, Italy’s literary prize for new writers, and was among the five finalists for the Premio Berto. The novel is garnering excellent reviews in the press. L’Amalassunta has been described as a literary work that fuses narration, autobiography, biography and criticism of art. After studying political science at the University of Bologna, Brandimarte illustrated cartoons and wrote fairy tales and theatrical scripts for children. Critics and readers alike predict a bright future for the writer, who is currently working on his second novel.
