Vanna Vinci

Vanna Vinci was born in Caligari, Italy. She started her career in the 90’s in the comics magazines Nova Express and Granata Press. Since then, her works have been published in France, Italy, and Spain by Bao Publishing, Dargaud, Rizzoli Lizard, Hachette, Planeta, Kappa Edizioni, and Kodansha. In addition to graphic novels (Tamara de Lempicka), comics (Sophia), and comic strips (La Bambina Filosofica), Vinici also illustrates for children’s books
In 1999, Vinci won the Yello Kid award for best comics artist. To add to her accolades, she was also awarded the Gran Giungi in 2005 and the Boscarato in 2015 for best author. Her book L’eta Selvaggia (Wild Age) won the Romics prize for best European work.
She lives and works in Milano and Bologna.
