On the News page of the International Publishers Association (Ipa), we read: “On occasion of the Sinai Liberation Day on April 25, with Ramadan, the month of forgiveness, approaching, IPA reiterates its appeal to Egyptian president to release Egyptian publisher Khaled Lotfy”.
Ipa continues to ask the Egyptian president Abdel Fatah el-Sisi to release publisher Khaled Lofty, who was sent in 2019 to 5 years in prison for allegedly spreading military secrets. Allegations involve the Arabic translation and distribution of a controversial Israeli novel: The Angel: The Egyptian Spy Who Saved Israel by Uri Bar-Joseph, published in the US by HaperCollins.
