The catalogue is part of the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Pitti Palace Gallery of Modern Art. In the Spring of 1914 the first exhibition was set in the Gallery, in the Società di Belle Arti, and dedicated solely to the “Black and White”. Fontanesi and Previati, Adolfo De Carolis: a considerable space was given to little-known artists at that time, such as the young Bernardini, coming from the Engraving School of Celestini.
