In Blind mice and other numbers, first published in 1961, the great American designer Ivan Chermayeff comes face to face with the world of children. With lightness and a taste for nonsense, Chermayeff counts along with us from 0 to 10 with amusing puns and linguistic somersaults.
Ivan Chermayeff is counted among the best-known American graphic designers and illustrators. In 1957, after studying at Harvard University, the Institute of Design in Chicago, and at Yale University, he founded Chermayeff & Geismar along with Tom Geismar, one of the world’s most famous design studios. Together, they have produced some of the most recognisable logos in contemporary graphics (National Geographic, CBS and PanAm among them). He received the highest honours in the field of visual communication: the Gold Medal from the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the Society of Illustrators, the Yale Arts Medal and the Industrial Art Medal from the American Institute of Architects. He was also president of AIGA and is a member of the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame.
