Among the many aircrafts used by Regia Aeronautica units during World War II, the Fieseler Storch proved to be extremely versatile and highly appreciated by the Italian crews. Although wide use was also made of the feared Stuka and the powerful Me 109s, the Fi 156’s contribution remains unique particularly for its demanding fight characteristics and for the high risk missions it had to undertake. This book is a tribute to the men that flew it to history.
Maurizio Di Terlizzi was born in 1968 in Rome. He has always been interested in flying and aviation and holds the rank of Warrant Officer of Italian Custom Police, as a helicopter instructor crew chief at the Flight Line of the Training, Studies and Aerial Standardization at Pratica di Mare AB(Rome). A painstaking modeller, he still takes part at International Competitions both as a competitor and as a judge. He has won the Gold Medal in the Championship of Paris and Telford on three occasions.
