Il caso di Charles Dexter Ward

Charles Dexter Ward, a diligent and solitary teenager,  finds out he has an ancestor who mysteriously vanished smacking of sorcery. When he discovers an old painting of his predecessor, revealing a face identical to his own, the young man is attracted  irresistibly into a whirl of inquiries increasingly mysterious and occult that will lead him, a decade later, to a forced admission to mental hospital.
