Iliad: The Wrath of Achilles

The Miniature Greek Literature series consists of 30 volumes, of which the first 11 are already in print.

The series introduces Greek authors through their writing, the aim being to provide an account of their cultural development, their message and the contribution they have made to Western and World culture. This is ‘miniature’ literature both in the sense that the authors and their works are presented in accessible single-subject volumes which are designed to introduce readers to the beauty, profundity and present-day relevance of classical culture.

By contrasting the wrath of the Greek hero with the humanity of Hector, the warrior culture with the culture of peace, the poet aims to transcend a world dominated by warlike instincts and discover a new approach to living.
