Dariusch Atghetchi presents the first analysis available in Italy about the Islamic debate of religious problems, surfacing with the new biomedical technologies. In this book we can find problems connected with life’s beginning (abortion, cloning, artificial fertilization, etc.) and with the end of life (euthanasia, biological testament, etc.). The author compares all the religious leaderships’ positions about those topics. He finds, in the end, many contradictory positions, floating between tradition and modernity.
Dariush Atighetchi is Professor of Bioethic at the Second Rome University and at Second Naples University. He’s the most capable expert in Islamic bioethic residing in Italy.
