L’italiano con le canzoni

Songs have an important role in the teaching of a second language because they evoke the social-cultural history of a country and also stimulate emotions which keep the motivation and attention span of students at a high level making them more predisposed to learn the language and the culture. Italian through songs consists of ten units, based on Italian songs of the 1990s and the fisrt decade of this century, and is directed at adolescent and adult students (level A2-C1). Each unit follows a pattern, beginning with oral comprehension and lexical analysis of the songs and then proceeding to more in-depth study of the lexical-semantic and socio-cultural background of the themes evoked by the song. The songs become multimedia instruments to approach Italian Culture.
