Quando andavamo al cinema is a perfect mix between news and the study of Italian society, from the birth of the cinema to 1960. There are glimpses of life revealed by the passion that the cinema has aroused from the beginning.
So an original look at the seventh art to remember and smile or to learn atmospheres and amazement that do not lose their freshness. The presence of numerous vintage photographs further enhances the volume.
Nicholas Mascellaro, born in 1939, after working as an emigrant in Italy and abroad, found work at the Bari newspaper ” La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno,” where he held the position of head of the Archive and Technical Services of the newspaper from 1966 to 1996. In 1989 he published the book To Chronicle a Window on History, published by the same company that manages the Journal. Followed by six other publications, richly illustrated and documented by the consultation of millions of pages that the Apulian newspaper published from 1887 to 1995. From those works, which are available on the website of the “Official,” many students and undergraduates have drawn inspiration to complete research and thesis. In addition to the collaboration with magazines, he writes regularly for the Journal.
