The Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini Collection: Stringed instruments and Bows -Galleria dell’Accademia Volume I

In 1996 the Conservatorio “Luigi Cherubini” first loaned some of the extraordinary instruments that are part of its collection to the Galleria dell’Accademia to create a section of the museum dedicated to the history of music. This volume unveils this collection, where violins, controviolino, violas, cellos and double basses are scientifically catalogued and analyzed with the most sophisticated technologies. Over 70 instruments, most of which can still be played, are carefully illustrated for those passionate about ancient music instruments, luthiers and art enthusiasts.
