The Flight of the Surfer

Two stories grown together: the first is the one of the very beautiful surfer Luca (he lives looking only for simple pleasures: women and surf) in whose office the ugly Esmeralda arrives, and the second is about Luca’s boss Roberto: he is workaholic and his marriage with Tiziana is going worst and worst; he will casually meet the nurse Manuela (Luca’s friend).
Everything changes, during the story: Luca falls in love with Elena and looses his thoughtlessness (his superficiality?) and he becomes really different, Esmeralda meets Massimo and they get engaged (Luca thinks that is a miracle!), Roberto – that is more the 40 years old – works less to live a unexpected love story with Manuela, really younger than him.
The stories are mixed and so there are unexpected reactions: for example, Roberto cuts Luca’s car wheels to avoid Luca to go to a work dinner with his friend Manuela. In the same dinner Tiziana meets Massimo after many years; Massimo is her ex-boyfriend and the only person with whom it shares the secret of a sexual violence happened a lot of years ago (and interrupted thanks Massimo’s arrival).
So we arrive close to the end: Luca almost don’t enjoy the trip to Mexico with that idea fixed in his head (that is Elena: Luca was able to have a lunch together, but he obtained only one kiss), Roberto goes further from Tiziana and their son to get involved from the exuberant Manuela (she gets pregnant), Massimo meets Tiziana but he is not able to leave Esmeralda to stay with her.
The unexpected ending: in a day of Flood Luca and Esmeralda are alone in their office at 12th floor and a fire oblige them to wait for relief that doesn’t arrive. So they fly embraced from the windows to land in a yard, just in the middle of a filed of mud that should break the fall; Luce decides to sacrifice himself to save Esmeralda and in fact he stays under Esmeralda during the flight. And so Esmeralda is safe and she will be able to live her love story with Massimo; Luca dies.
Also other charcters have different fates: Roberto decides to leave his wife and to live with Manuela (they will have 4 sons), Tiziana is left alone.
