Virtual Egypt

by Alessandro Furlan Pietro Galifi Stefano Moretti

DVD-ROM on the Napoleon’s expedition and the rediscovery of ancient Egypt.
This work takes its cue from the publication of the discoveries and observations of the Napoleon’s expedition to Egypt. The scientific undertaking, carried out in the face of so many difficulties caused by the military nature of the campaign, was the first to provide a systematic survey of the magnificent remains of ancient Egyptian civilization, and it laid the foundations of what was to become modern Egyptology.
The DVD contains the complete corpus of images of ancient Egypt taken from one of the original edition of the “Description de L’Egypte”.
