Edizioni PLUS, the new publishing house of the University of Pisa, was established to promulgate the results of its numerous research activities and to promote its various cultural and didactic projects. The publishing activity will encompass manuals, handbooks, essays, periodicals, and in-depth studies of specific subjects of popular interest, in addition to the university’s informational and institutional publications. The titles The Welfare State: Past, Present, Future, Histoire, Images, Imaginaire,Empires and States in European Perspective, Racial Discrimination and Ethnicity in European History, Religion and Political Change in Europe. Past and Present, and Tolerance and Intolerance in Historical Perspective are supported in part by the Culture 2000 programme of the European Union
