THE PROGRAM has been devised for students interested in studying Italian language and culture and who wish to gain a deeper insight into the traditions, customs and artistic expressions of our country. The program provides the students with the opportunity to practice the language constantly through participation in a variety of cultural activities, by reading and by watching videos. In this way they learn to write and speak Italian easily while getting a real taste of the Italian lifestyle. THE COURSE is for groups of between 4 and 8 people. However, courses are offered for 1 or 2-3 people under special circumstances, if the standard number of students is not reached. Students arrive in Todi on Sunday, and settle into their apartments or with their families. Lessons run from 9am to 1pm, Monday through Friday, so students can spend the afternoons participating in a variety of cultural activities run by the school. Our courses have been awarded the Bildungsurlaub Certificate by the German government and the CSN recognition from the Ministry of Education in Sweden. OUR NATIVE-SPEAKING TEACHERS are highly qualified and have extensive experience in several fields. They are resourceful and accessible at all times to assist students. THE CULTURAL ACTIVITIES offered include: • Cooking lessons with a professional chef. Each lesson is dedicated to a different dish: pizza, pasta, roast meats, sauces and desserts. • Ceramic lessons with a local craftsman who uses Renaissance techniques from Deruta • Painting courses in an 18th-century tower in the Todi countryside. These courses consist of studying different painting techniques on two-dimensional surfaces such as paper, cardboard and canvas. • Recreation of an ancient, imperial Roman 3-course dinner served with honey-seasoned wine. • Wine-tasting opportunities in the antique cellars of surrounding towns which are known for their premium wines, such as Orvieto, Montefalco and Torgiano. • Guided tours to explore the most typical medieval Umbrian villages, castles and even the smallest theatre in the world. • Archaeological tours along the Via Flaminia, to the Roman Catacombs, along the Tiber river and through Roman ruins ACCOMODATIONS • Elegantly restored APARTMENTS equipped with modern facilities located within antique buildings in the historic center or in the beautiful countryside surrounding Todi. Apartments can be independent or shared with other students in single or double rooms (see price list). Authentic FAMILY RESIDENCES located in the town or countryside where students have the opportunity to live with carefully selected families who are always ready to meet students’ needs. Students have their own single room, often with its own bathroom, and are guaranteed that they will not be placed in a house with students of the same nationality. Careful attention is given to avoiding placing students of the same nationality with the same family. SPECIAL SERVICES • Assistance with visa applications • Transportation to and from the airport • General student assistance • Fax, e-mail and internet services TODI is a small medieval town founded by the Etruscans and developed under the Romans.
