Ennio Cavalli is the winner of the 2009 Viareggio-Rèpaci Award for Poetry. The award was started in 1929 by a group of Italian authors and journalists. Dedicated to works in Italian by Italian writers published the preceding year, the prize is awarded in the summer in Viareggio, a small town on the coast of Tuscany. The Viareggio-Rèpaci Awards are divided into three categories: Fiction, Poetry and Essays.
