On February 4th, the Italian Trade Agency – Chicago Office, in cooperation with CremonaFiere, Regione Lombardia, Unioncamere Lombardia and Promos, hosted Mondomusica Roadshow, an itinerant presentation in the US of Mondomusica New York.
Mondomusica New York was conceived for the US market by CremonaFiere, organizers of Cremona Mondomusica, the principle international trade show dedicated to handcrafted musical instruments. The first edition of Mondomusica New York in 2013 had 164 exhibitors and over 2,500 visitors. The next edition will take place April 10-12, 2014 at the 82MERCER Conference Space in Soho.
The objective of the Mondomusica Roadshow, which took place in the Millennium Park Room at the Chicago Cultural Center, was to introduce Mondomusica New York to potential exhibitors and visitors. Guests included sellers of musical instruments, music teachers and musicians. The event began with a breakfast, followed by talks by Antonio Piva, President of CremonaFiere SpA, Massimo Bianchedi, General Manager of CremonaFiere SpA, and Peter Seman, President of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers. The presentation concluded with a performance by a trio of musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, who played pieces by Beethoven, Dohnanyi Serenade and Mascagni with violin, viola and cello.
Mondomusica New York is much more than a trade show: a program of cultural, scientific and artistic events will also be offered. For complete information, please visit www.mondomusicanewyork.com.
