The book, in two volumes, reproduces the holy vessels and other objects produced by the most impressive Sicilian goldsmith’s workshops between the 15th and the 18th centuries. The pieces, that had been shown off in the Exhibition “The Treasure of the Island” in Praga (2004), are authentic masterpieces of Sicilian handicraft and show not only the great personalities of their creators, but also tell the history of the artistic activities in the main towns of the Island, such as Palermo, Messina, Catania, and so on.

A part of the book is devoted to coral items produced by workshops from Trapani in the 17th century.
